Building Community Leaders Initiative

Creating Leaders with Lived Experiences

The Building Community Leaders Initiative prioritizes finding individuals who have the same lived experiences as our participants. These leaders will gain the support they need to make their vision and passion a reality through invaluable work experience. Harmony, Hope & Healing will help our interns develop a strong work ethic and gain a deeper understanding of the principles that form the basis of our work.

This initiative will offer paid internship opportunities for interested individuals to develop leadership, networking, and development skills such as curriculum development, facilitation skills, problem solving skills and more.  Our Community Leaders will be responsible for facilitating music classes and workshops at our partner sites/agencies, and will support individuals as they heal from traumas associated with isolating lived experiences such as homelessness, incarceration, and addiction. They will learn the skills to engage with people healing trauma and surviving isolating lived experiences.

Through this internship period, participants will also have the opportunity to attend ongoing professional development with our staff and do outreach work as liaison between Harmony, Hope & Healing and their assigned program site.

This initiative is funded by the Marge Nykaza's Founder's Fund!
