Joining forces with the Atlanta Homeward Choir to raise awareness for homelessness was a wonderful way to close out our 15th anniversary year.
On Tuesday, December 18, we performed a Noontime Concert at the Daley Center Plaza entitled Voices for Hope & Home. Participants from DuPage Pads and Chicago Help Initiative also joined our choir! The concert was attended by hundreds, including NBC5 News:
After the concert, our choirs shared a lunch with several of the audience members who are currently experiencing homelessness.
In the evening, both choirs performed with singers from around the Chicagoland area at the Homeless Persons’ Memorial. A 50 voice choir, along with over 500 attendees commemorated homeless individuals who have lost their lives in the past year.
Thank you to Beth Marek and the Old St Pat’s community for their generous hospitality, hosting and providing meals for our friends from Atlanta.
Thanks to the Atlanta Homeward Choir for making the trip and singing with us!
